For the past two weeks we've been working on apples. Our overall question was "How do apples grow?"

Sight Word Practice Freebie

I am always trying to make a connection with school and home. One way is to have parents practice popcorn words or sight words. Besides the obvious flash cards, I have a little poster students make every week. Normally, students write the popcorn words then take the poster home and hang it up. Apple Emergent Readers

For the next two weeks we'll be working on our apple unit. We'll be learning about the life cycle of an apple, visiting an apple orchard, and doing some fun apple crafts. I created some apple emergent readers that I'll be using in the classroom.

As all of you know, you always have students who are performing at different levels. I like creating readers to reach and challenge those. Each reader has the same picture, but the text is different.
